By far the rarest of any Waltham 1872 Models is the Open Face GOLD DOME. This is a American Watch Co. 1872 Gold Dome Model 21j Open Face. Made for the 1876 Centennial World's Fair in Chicago, Ill. Rare Open Face, 321 jewels with a solid domed balance cock, 16 size, 3/4 Plate with "American Watch Co." fully spelled out. All original double hinged back and cover Waltham 18k original case. 125 grams total weight. 1 of 20 made. The dial is marked in a very special way: "A.W.Co/Waltham". Everything is mint and original.
