Began in Boston, as “The American Watch Co.” in 1860, and incorporated in 1872 as “The Waltham Watch Co.” This model was featured in the Centennial 1876 World's Fair in Chicago, Ill. Waltham Produced 33 million watches during its lifetime. This Waltham 1872 Model is completely original and in excellent condition. It's also an original Box Hinged solid gold case, making it very scarce, if not rare. 15 jewels, lever set, 3/4 plate nickel, 16 size, hunting model, Breguet hair spring, Serial No. 2,788,475. 125 total weights.
