NON-MAGNETIC WATCH Co.
Geneva and America
1887-1905
The Non-Magnet Watch Co. sold and imported watches from the Swiss as well as contracted watch made in America. Geneva Non-Magnetic marked watches appear to be the oldest type of movement. This company sold a full line of watches high grade to low grade, as well as repeaters and ladies watches. An advertisement appeared in the monthly journal of “Locomotive Engineers” in 1887. The ad states that the “Pallard’s patent non-magnetic watches are uninfluenced by magnetism of electricity.” Each watch contains the Pallard’s patent non-magnetic, inoxidizable compensation balance and hairspring. Ad add in 1888 shows prices for 16 size Swiss style watches as low as $15 for 7 jewels and as high as $135 for 20 jewels.
The example presented here is a rare Arabic original double sunken dial Hunting model, full plate gilt, lever set, 11j, ADJUSTED No. 25270. Cased in the original nickel glass back snap and bezel with thick beveled hard rock crystals on both sides. Very clean, running. The dial has two hard to view short hairlines at 11 and 4 edge. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. INVEST IN HARD ASSETS, DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
